About Capone

Adoption Fee: $400
Mastiff

Capone is located in foster in Johnstown, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. * We do not transport dogs. * Please apply to adopt at https://milehighcanine.org/forms-and-applications/mhcr-adoption-application/! Molosser enthusiasts, this post is for you! Allow us to introduce you to Capone. Capone is a 3-year-old, 150 lbs %8Fܕ%8F, pure bred (and neutered), Tosa Inu. This gorgeous boy is a rare breed said to have originated in Japan %BE and often is referred to as a Japanese Mastiff. In Japan, they are highly regarded, some say equivalent to Sumo wrestlers %A4%BC'%8D%8F. 'ۢ So, here's what we know about our boy Capone. He's a well socialized guy and has lived with the same family since he was a puppy. He greets strangers with a tail wag and handshake %A4%9D. Capone has been around kids of all ages. While he generally does ok, he doesn't appreciate hugs or too much cuddling from kiddos, so we are recommending an adult only home. Capone takes a slow intro when meeting other dogs. However, we believe he would do well in a home with a canine companion. So, what gives, why is this guy in need of a new forever? Well, Capone's dad is a canine cop s. His working dog is retiring (intact Belgian Malinois) and he and Capone were not keen on each other. Too many %8D in one house). 'ۢ So, this wrinkly batch of goodness is looking for a home where he can be top dog. Not just any home will do. We have some basic requirements because - while he's amazing and wonderful in so many ways - he's a strong, courageous, powerful breed and he's not for the novice dog owner. 1. Large fenced in yard with privacy fencing. 2. Physically capable of handling a 150 lbs dog. 3. Experienced dog owner (sorry lab or Mastiff lovers, we mean experienced with tough breeds). 4. Welcoming of a large dog friend on the couch.
