Hello there. My name is Ellie and I have had a rough start to life. I was taken to a 'guy' who told my owners that he knew how to train me to be a cattle dog. I was kicked by a horse the first week I was there, but the 'trainer' never let my owners know. By the time I was returned a month later, the bone in my leg had died and it had to be amputated. Of course, if my owner had been notified immediately, they could have saved my leg. And because of some other trauma during this so-called training, I now have PTSD. I am not comfortable around lots of people and I cower down when approached. Don't get me wrong - with the right family, I will be a great dog again. I need a home with a fenced-in yard and limited chaos. I need an owner with patience to show me people are not going to harm me and show me lots of love. I enjoy going on walks and swimming in ponds. And believe me, losing my leg has not slowed me down one bit. I hope you will consider meeting me to see what you think. But if you're not interested, at least consider donating to the rescue that stepped up to help me: Lost Paws Oklahoma, PO Box 3494, Shawnee, OK 74801 or via PayPal [email protected].
