About Junior

Junior is a 5 year old catahoula mix hound dog. I am currently struggling financially and living in a hotel. Junior needs more exercise and attention than I can provide for him right now. Being stuck in a hotel room the majority of the time is really affecting his happiness and his behavior. He is great with kids, but not with small animals. He does get along with both male and female larger dogs. He was previously owned by one family, and there was evidence of abuse. Over the five years that I've had him his temperament and trust issues have improved tremendously. He does still have moments where he feels like he is going to be abused again and acts defensively. He is a great dog though and he is more loyal than any I've ever had. It breaks my heart to have to try to rehome him, but I know I'm not able to provide for him like he needs and it's not fair to him. I also fear that because of his issues he will not do well in a pound or shelter. He really needs someone more familiar with his breed and more able to give him the space and exercise he needs. I'm not asking for any money for him, I just want to meet anyone interested in caring for him, to be sure it's a good fit and he won't be mistreated.
