About Mojo

Adoption Fee: $50.00
American Bulldog mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Mojo is a wonderful pup. He was found by my neighbor about 3 years ago. She could not care for him so I decided to foster. He was a very sweet boy but I think the previous owners neglected him to the backyard. He was about 60 lbs when I got him. He is now 80-90 lbs Vet checked him over at that time and said he was healthy, just malnourished. That was quickly resolved. I was unable to find the previous owners. (It was probably a good thing for him that I could not.) I then got him neutered and up to date on all his shots. I was not looking for a pup at the time, but quickly fell in love with him. It's truly hard not to. I assume he is an American Bulldog because he literally fits the breed standard. He will lean towards the Scott line of AB's. (75-90lbs) He is now out of the puppy phase and mellow most of the time. He has enough energy for a run or long walk. He likes to run next to me when I ride my bike. He does awsome at dog parks as well. He is also content just hanging around. He is crate trained, house broken, uses a doggie door, and knows basic commands. He is appropriately protective of his pack and space but not aggressive. He is a great combination of companion and protector. Health: He is very healthy, but can have skin allergies from time to time. I haven't figured out the triggers, but Benadryl or Claritin works great. (these allergies stem from their English Bulldog background). I have been feeding him Purina One Smart blend. He has done well with this. I will periodically add Benadryl or Claritin to his food if I notice little hives on his side. I also notice that his collor tends to rub him raw from time to time. So I wash him and add A&D ointment which resolves it. I am currently using a homemade parachord as a coller (thinnest and strongest collar I could find). The reason I am rehoming him is because my life schedule has changed this last year. I am having to work long and strange hours due to Covid and in the process of blending families with my other half. I can see in his demeanor that he misses the quality time that I can't provide now. He deserves to be with someone or a family that can truly be there for him. He is wonderful with kids as well. He is NOT fond of cats. He should be the only dog in the home. He doesn't tend to start fights, but he will appropriately defend himself if attacked. So please be mindful of that. He loves to chew on antlers and they last for months. This is not an easy decision for me. This is the first time I have rehomed a dog. I just want him to be in a stable, kind, and loving home. * No dogs * No cats * Best for someone with bully breed experience. He is also microchiped so your info will replace mine upon adoption. Thank you for your time and consideration. We appreciate it.
