About Warrin

Adoption Fee: $350
Australian Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

This gorgeous Black Tri Aussie is Warrin and he is a wonderful boy! He is 5 years old, neutered and current on immunizations. With that being said, he has a bite history, so he IS NOT the dog for a first-time dog owner, or anyone who is inexperienced with reactivity. We don't know a lot about Warrin's past, but he does not trust easily, but once you've earned his trust, he's an absolute joy to be around! He loves his weird red toy (looks like a Kong and an octopus had a baby lol). Warrin enjoys Tug o War most, Fetch second, and just generally being on the move! He is a very active dog! My first impression was that he may only be suitable as a working farm dog, but I've changed my mind. With his perfect person, I can see a pathway to being a pet, although a combination of exercise, enrichment, and relaxation will be required! Play is the way to Warrin's heart and training is a dream come true. He knows Sit, Down, Spin, Speak, Touch, Stay, Place, Crate, Shake, High Five, among many others and lots he's still learning!! In my time with Warrin, he has become reactive about me, strange men, some women, strange sounds, vehicles, and basically anything that frustrates or stresses him. But children have been the worst of those reactions so. NO CHILDREN! NO EXCEPTIONS! He will need an excellent management strategy, including a crate, muzzle, baby gates, fences, and an attentive knowledgeable person. If you have the type of person in your life who says 'don't worry, dogs love me' as they approach or stick their hand out, KEEP THEM AWAY FROM WARRIN! As I said, it takes him time to trust so those are the things that responsible me has to say. Warrin loves chin scratches, belly/chest rubs, and butt scratches. Butt scratches are required from his new owner. The more scratches he gets, the happier he is . We know that Warrin's special person is out there that can provide him with an active and loving home and give him the patience, structure and understanding that he needs. If that person is you, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application Warrin will need an adopter within driving distance and at least one meet and greet will be required prior to adoption.
