About Mr Poe - Large cat

Hello, let me introduce myself, my name is Mr. Poe. I have a look saying, Bond, James cat Bond. I an all black panther boy. I am a larger kitty, weighing between 11# to 12#'s with a large head and paws to match. I adore people, engaging and like to be out where the people are. I like to sit next to my people. Not so much with male cats though, can't be with other male kitties, but I do like the ladies in true James Bond style. I am in need a home where my human caretaker knows how to read cat language, an experience cat caregiver person. I enjoy rubbies. I really want to trust humans but have have been abused. My original owner barely fed me and when she moved, she was going to leave me in the apartment or outside to die. The apartment was next to a busy road. You could see my bones and I was losing fur due to lack of food. A nice person took me in to foster me, helped me get healthy, vetted, tested, and got rid of my fleas. After several months, I am healthy and ready for a forever home. I will strike my paw at you at times because I was hit and not fed regularly. This means to go slower and re-approach me or give me a break, come back. My best home would be as the only kitty, or a female kitty and me with caretakers that have time for me. I will be better with more interaction. I have some trust issues that will be much better with time and consistency as I get to know you are a loving, cat person. I purr and head bump to let you know I care about you. I do play and enjoy a go at the laser light. I also like string type chase toys, not much into furry mice or crinkle balls. I look like a big oaf running around, kinda of klutzy. I would simply adore a screened in porch where I could sniff the air and feel safe with a touch of nature.
