His rescuer writes, 'I am a rescuer and this is a dog they came from a home of 17 dogs so far that we have gotten surrender to us all in such horrible health. I am trying to find the best option for a Andro because he deserves a second chance....I've reached out To every pet rescue I could find...' Name: Andro Age: 2 years Breed: American Bulldog Sex: Male (not neutered) Location: Iberia Parish, LA Vet Info: Andro is not neutered. He is up to date with vaccines per his rescuer. Andro weighs about 60 pounds. His rescuer gave us more details about his vision and health: 'His eyes look glossier other days then some. I do have to direct him when walking him because he will walk into anything. Are used a light and I do not see him reacting to it and when I call his name in a crate he just turns his head whatever direction my voice came from but his eyes are always looking up. He was treated for Demodex Vaccinated and dewormed is scheduled to have a heartworm test done and his rabies vaccine we are hoping to raise enough money to get his eyes checked out.' Dog Info: Andro was rescued a few months ago from life on a chain without any housing. He is an indoor dog confined to one area of the house, and his rescuer gave us more details: 'He has had two accidents in my house and it was because I didn't get to him fast enough to walk him. He is crate it when I am not around of course for safety for us, Himself, and the other rescues.' His rescuer is working with him and he now knows Sit and is learning Heel. He also knows his name! Andro's rescuer gave us more details about how he is with others: 'I rescue pitties and Kitties and I have five children so he is around and hears everything going on. We have an exactly dog temperament test it much because I've been letting him do a lot of decompressing while he gets used to living indoors. He lived outdoors his entire life in coming in blind and has kittens jumping on top of his kennel he does growl at them. The first night we did not have a very secured crate and I did forget to tie strap and with that we found a Andro the next day sleeping with the kids and cats. The owner said he is nice to other dogs but he looked like he feared the other dogs as I walked him away from them. He is also create it right beside ferrets that he hears constantly and they do not bother him.' Andro can be possessive of food and has growled at some cats and older male dogs who have walked up to his crate. His rescuer also tells us, 'I have a lot of confidence in this dog and I do not ever seen dogs out that I am not confident will do great.' Andro's rescuer feels he adapts well to new situations and gave us more info: 'So far he is doing great he knows his routine. He even knows exactly where his kennel is in the house or the area to go in and what time to go. He is such a smart dog. And for being in the conditions he was in I think he is doing amazing being in a house full of cats and dogs.' Andro's rescuer wants us to know what a special little boy he is! 'Andro truly is a sweet dog and a lot of people just misunderstand pitbull's. A dog with his impairment I do understand could be difficult for some but I have a Holy deaf American bulldog I have had for four years and we have learned to work with each other with hand signals. I've started this with Andrew as well he likes snapping your fingers clapping your hands and remind him that you were in the room. He loves to come for rides and get coffee with me.' **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
