About Barney

Barney is a 2-3 year old, 74 lb, Lab/German Shepard Mix Hi, I'm Barney. My life did not start out well. How would you feel living tied under a tree during all kinds of weather and the South Texas I am in foster care and I get to sleep in an airconditioned house and have food every day and loved on. Learning some basic commands along the way. One is to learn to sit patiently until my food is put down for me. I want to please and learning every day. I am very sweet and love attention. Sometimes I can be an overgrown puppy but learning to not act like I am 20 pounds! Every night I look forward to getting some treats. I promise to be gentle when I take them from your hand. And if you tell me to 'get in your house', I will dart in there, knowing that the last of the treats will be sprinkled on the floor. I want kids to throw a ball for me - but I may not bring it back! I invented a game: you chase me for the ball. LOL. If you catch up to me I will gently let you have the ball back. But please throw it again. I see look through the glass door at the cat but have never officially met him in person. I just look and wag my tail. I play chase with her dog; man, he runs fast. I like to run and play chase. Love to play with kids who come over. I am learning not to jump up in excitement and easily correctable. Don't really have a mean bone in my body. Maybe because of my size (again I think I am 20 pounds) kids over 8ish? Do so well with baths and even when they trimmed my nails with a grinder. They called me 'good boy' My foster has told me about a place where there are mountain and streams and cooler weather. Would love to be active, go on hikes and swim. I dream about this place every night and as I close my eyes I hear my people say 'good boy' and cuddle. Please help my dream come true! Please, please after readying this give this guy a chance!
