About Capone

Capone is a 5 year old male Blue Lacy/Pit mix. He has a lot of energy and unfortunately doesn't know any basic commands aside from sit and shake. He also has a few bad behaviors that I'm not sure of how I'd get him to break and am not in the best health condition for him to be jumping and running into me. From what I've seen taking him on walks so far, he is friendly towards other dogs but he focuses on them a bit too much sometimes. He did well with the male puppy he met today (01/09/2022) though he did try to mount it at one point (the pup was around 10lb). He's very friendly and outgoing towards people, but he does jump. I think he would thrive with someone who owns a yard and a pretty active lifestyle, but also knows how to train or has the patience to learn. I really don't want to send him back to the shelter as part of the reason I adopted him was to prevent him from being euthanized and that he contracted kennel cough from there. I'm currently working to get him better and to help him gain a bit more weight, but I really do believe there's a better home out there for him. He has all his vaccinations aside from Rabies. While he is good with adults, I'm not sure he'd be a good fit with children due to his jumping and rough play. And personally, he is too high energy for my cats and I'm just afraid to let him too close to them, so I'm not entirely sure how he would interact with cats in general. Regardless, he is a really sweet boy and he deserves a loving home.
