About Sharpie

Shar-Pei
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Courtesy post Sharpie needs foster ASAP. Contact shelter if you can foster as there is a rescue willing to pull her to safety Sharpie- 4 years, female, 48lbs Beautiful and sleek, Sharpie (don't worry, she's not too attached to her name yet anyway), was brought to BARCS through our partnership with Animal Control after being found as a stray. In our care, Sharpie has been on the shyer side, so we are seeking rescue for her, preferably familiar with the breed. Sharpie is a sweet and gentle girl, but she's had a rough start so far and is struggling in her kennel, where she can be very reactive. She is better outside, and will wag her tail just ever-so-slightly, enjoying the occasional pet. Sharpie has shown uncomfortable behavior around other dogs at our shelter, so we would recommend her in a home with no other dogs. Upon examination, our vets noted that Sharpie, while otherwise apparently very healthy, has very dirty and sensitive ears. We took a culture of both, which is currently pending. A full medical summary can be provided upon request. We'd love to get Sharpie back into a home environment where she can decompress. She is available immediately for rescue placement.
