Hello, my name is HARRISON, contrary to the photos, I do like to walk around and sniff the 'doggy newspaper 'and explore or walk with you on leash. It just happens that the only time when I am photogenic is when I rest or sleep. And I do that a lot. Especially after the feedings. So, don't get me wrong - I am still an active SENIOR and I do not carry extra pounds around as can happen when you get older. I would like to live out my days with a senior person that like a companion and does not expect too much from me. I never bark, unless I am outside and want to come back in- then I bark quite pitiful and relentlessly. I was abandoned at the Ventura Shelter in CA by my owner saying that he does not want to care for me anymore. I only survived this high kill shelter there many months because I am such a Gentleman and low key, and I did not ask for anything. AnimalDefense Rescue.org was the rescue which got me out. Ever since I have been living with the founder on Orcas Island, WA with other dog friend and cat friends Breakfast and dinner are my favorite moments in the day. After that you must let me out (in a fenced yard) or walk me. Then I will rest - and you can do your thing. you can leave me along without problem, and I also like car rides if I have a dog bed, I can lie in and plenty of blankets to dig in. I do have to a hernia and need to get every day my dosage of laxative via syringe which I tolerate easily. No big deal for you or for me. That is why the 'Special Needs ' field is checked. I am neutered, up to date with vaccinations and microchipped. Do think about me! I would love to spend the rest of my days with a good soul. Be it as adopted or long term foster/hospice.
