About Charlie

Adopted Charlie in May 2021 and he is not a good fit with our family or home. He's very well behaved in the house, house trained, no separation anxiety, does not bark at animals while in the house, and doesn't need a crate. He is usually well behaved on the leash but can have extreme aggressive behavior when seeing other dogs on leashes (only leashes, not yards or houses) during our walks. His energy level is medium (low for a husky) and comes in spurts. He has increasingly exhibited aggressive behavior towards us (adults and boys) and the cats. He does not like when the family physically plays (boys rough-housing), runs around, or is rambunctious in any way. He will bark and bite at us until we stop playing (bites hard enough to leave large bruises, but not to break skin) He also does not like when the cats make sudden movements or noises. He will immediately run at them and make them stop whatever they are doing by either looming over them or pawing at them. He has severe food aggression against the cats if human food is involved (piece fell while cooking and a cat was semi near). He also is not a fan of any type of affection whatsoever. He will growl or groan when you try to pet him or get near him and immediately walk away. He will tolerate you while you give him treats, take him on walks, and play ball with him. We would like to have an appropriate home adopt him before we have to surrender him to a shelter. Recommend a home with only adults or family with teens, no cats. He does well at dog parks but unknown how he would act with another dog in the home.
