About Gary

Bernese Mountain Dog mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Hi Everyone, this is Gary! I have had the pleasure of knowing Gary during my volunteer time at Loving Companions. He is a very loving dog who doesn't make the best first impression. He showed his teeth to me when I first met him and growled a little. But once I went in his kennel he leaned on me and wanted to be right next to me. I think he is just confused about his new living arrangement, and maybe a little scared. He is a big teddy bear. Please read the original post from his owner who was unable to keep him and consider coming down today to meet Gary in person. The rescue will be open from 12-4. But can meet anytime if you call for an appointment. Merreley Donohue original post: Gary is a Bernese Mountain Dog/Malamute mix. He is 2 years old and a huge sweetheart. He loves to play with other dogs and is passive with even aggressive dogs. He needs an active home with older kids and room to run and explore. He is well trained in basic commands and his recall is getting much better. He is so much fun to ski jour with. He gets anxious around meeting new people and gets protective of his spaces(like in the car/and of the house). Once he knows who his family and people are he is very loyal. Ideally he needs one on one training and a steady routine. Our family adopted him a year ago and we're not able to keep him. We are heartbroken that we could not keep him. Please PM me with any questions. He is shy at first meetings and is probably uncomfortable in his new situation. Gary deserves a wonderful home and a chance.
