About Zane

Zane is a 15 pound senior PomChi (Pomeranian/Chihuahua). Zane was found as a stray in a small town in Kansas and nobody ever looked for him. We don't know his exact age. Zane is a sweet boy who likes to be with his people and would enjoy a home where someone was around most of the time. His favorite place is wherever his people are. Zane does well with other dogs his size but would also be happy as an only dog getting all the attention. Zane doesn't have much experience on a leash and doesn't hear well so he would like a fenced yard at his new home. When Zane was found it was obvious he had not had any care in quite a while. He was underweight, matted, his nails were long, his ears were infected, he had a cough caused by a respiratory infection, he had buffalo breath from rotten teeth, he was drinking water bowls dry, and smelled like a hog lot. With some care Zane has thrived in his foster home. He is now at a healthy weight, his coat is shiny and healthy, his ear infections are cleared, his respiratory infection is gone, and he has had a dental. Because Zane's ears were infected a long time he doesn't hear well. Like many small dogs, his right patella (kneecap) moves around and doesn't stay in place. Zane has some arthritis. When we did a blood panel on Zane his kidney values were elevated so he eats a canned kidney diet. This diet makes his body happy and stopped the excessive drinking. Zane is house trained, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped.
