About Sugar

This little cutie is Sugar. Sugar is a 10 year old and 12 pound terrier mix. Sugar was found as a stray and taken to a local shelter. The shelter was quite full and was a scary place for Sugar. Then the shelter staff notice that Sugar was having a seizure. They took her to a local veterinarian where she was hospitalized for a couple of days for observation. When they released her we immediately went to get her and put her in a foster home. Sugar had a few more seizures but they were minor. She didn't lose consciousness and was aware of what was going on around her. She is now on medication that we are hoping will control the seizures or at least make them less frequent. Don't let this make you think she isn't a normal dog with a good life. She is a very sweet dog with a spunky personality. Sugar loves to be with people. She wants to be near you as much as possible. She wants to be next to you on the couch or in bed with you. She is not a jumper and will expect you to pick her up to put her next to you and then put her back down when you are ready to walk away. If you forget her, she will let you know about it. Sugar is housetrained and doesn't need to kenneled when you are not home. Give her a soft and warm dog bed and she will nap until you come home. Sugar loves her food and treats and lets you know when it is mealtime. She is a curious and adventurous girl. She has no fear of new places or new people and will easily venture into new situations. Sugar would like a fenced in yard so she can get out and explore in a safely confined space. Sugar does well with most other dogs, but she can be a little dominant. She would probably do best with male dogs or submissive females. Sugar is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, heartworm negative and microchipped. She recently had her teeth cleaned.
