About Buddy

�٠� courtesy post for Buddy. He needs foster, adopter or rescue by THIS THURSDAY (1/6) or will be surrendered to shelter where he will be put to sleep right away due to full shelter and previous nips/bites (did not need medical attention and inexperienced adopters). We got the plea for help below from his previous foster that cannot take him back as one of her dogs needs knee surgery this month. She is desperately trying to save his life but time is not on her side. Please share Buddy and contact Jen if you can help. 'Buddy is seeking a loving home that will provide him with much-needed training and structure. He is an American Staffordshire Terrier, about 2 years old, neutered, 60+ lbs. He is a very sweet and affectionate dog who thinks he is a tiny lap dog (he loves to cuddle!). He's in great health, potty-trained, gets along with most other dogs, is curious about cats (but not aggressive toward them), and enjoys car rides. He absolutely needs a home with people who are very experienced with dogs and are able/willing to provide proper training, as he originally came from a traumatic background and has some behavioral issues and bad manners. For this reason, he should not go to a household with children. Buddy has a dominant personality (lacking boundaries) and in certain situations, he reactively nips and has bitten (piercing skin/drawing blood a few times) which is why he is being surrendered by his current family. He also gets jealous when he is not the center of attention. That said, overall he is a good, sweet dog who requires training and boundaries. Ideally his long-term home will be with someone who is there most of the time or can take him when out for long periods of time (he hates to be alone!). He would love a fenced-in yard so he can run around and play untethered. Buddy is currently being surrendered to a kill shelter with an end date of this Thursday, January 6.'
