About LITTLE FELLA

PLEASE READ INFORMATION AT THE END OF THE POST FOR ADOPTIONS This little fella is LITTLE FELLA! He had been spotted running around a neighborhood for a couple of days, and after several hours of trying to catch him, his foster mom used her own dog to get him to follow them home by saying 'Come on Little Fella'! She posted him everywhere, walked the neighborhood, put up signs, and did everything she could to help find his home, to no avail. Little Fella is a 2 year old, 12 pound Chihuahua with a super cute curly tail! He is very friendly and sweet and loves to cuddle on a lap. Little Fella gets along fine with other small dogs and likes to play with them. He encourages them to play by putting a paw on their back or barking at them. He isn't really in tune with their cues when they don't want to play and has to be redirected if they give a warning growl. On all of their walks he ignored the neighborhood cats. He has not been tested with kids although we think he would be fine with older children. He has good energy but hasn't played with toys yet. Little Fella is doing well with going outside to potty and will go to door when he wants to go out. He will follow his foster mom to the front door but waits if she tells him to 'stay'. He should be supervised outside, at least at first, since he did paw at the ground by the fence and ran its border looking for a way out when he first got to his foster home. After 2 weeks, he is comfortable and settled in quite a bit. Because he was found as a stray we would prefer that he go to a home with a fenced yard. Little Fella is not comfortable with a leash yet but has gotten used to his harness. He likes car rides, but needs his seatbelt on because he is active and curious in the car. At first he refused to sleep in a doggy bed and would only sleep on a rug or a blanket on the floor. Maybe he never had a doggy bed! He's figured that out now though and loves to curl up someplace soft. Little Fella has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month Pro heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. His neuter will be scheduled at one of our vets soon and is covered by the rescue. Some family will be so lucky to have this cute 'little fella'!
