About Rusty

I rescued Rusty from a shelter in April, 2020. I need to rehome him due to my health. Rusty is somewhere between 3-4 years old. He absolutely LOVES playing with the dogs that used to live on my street (photo included) but both dogs have moved away. I can tell he misses wrestling, playing & running with dogs. My neighbors like Rusty, too. It would be a blessing to rehome him to someone/family with yard space who already has an active dog(s); or trips to the dog park often would be great. He's a happy and very good boy who wants to please; letting him go is hard. Rusty is completely house trained, uses the dog door freely, or will come to 'ask' to go out. I don't use crates because it's too much like the shelter cages too many dogs live in. He eagerly rides (lays down) in the car. He knows and responds to many verbal 'commands' = No, Come, Go Home, Stay, Sit, Lay Down, Go Lay Down, Get on Your Bed, Wait, Get Back, Get Down, Easy, Good Boy, and the word 'Squirrel.' Also, I've taught him a few commands in sign language that I can teach you. Cats: he likes them, wants them to play but they don't, lol. He LOVES kids and chasing squirrels. He will bark at a door knock and strangers who come to the door; he will alert you but not be agressive. He is neutered and microchipped. He's up to date with all shots, will need only the Bordetella & DAPPV soon. His vet is the affordable Animal Alliance and his rehome fee of $40 will be paid back to the Animal Alliance (or your vet) via me to cover those costs. His rabies is good until 2024. If you already have a dog(s), feel free to bring them to the meet for introductions!
