***NEEDS FUREVER HOME*** Currently in Bellevue Check out how well 4 year ol, 62-pound NATENA nka TENA is doing since she was found stray with a pack of huskies in Wendell in mid-December. TENA was timid with people and dogs when she arrived at our foster's ranch. With the care of Paula Bonner, who operates a dog-boarding facility in the Wood River Valley and is known as 'The Dog Goddess', TENA was able to flourish into the sweet pup that she may have been before her ordeal (living on her own for weeks or months). TENA has adapted to life on the ranch, and has learned how to trust again. Her physical health has improved a great deal. TENA has learned her name and comes when she is called. She listens to anyone who interacts with her. TENA gets along with all the dogs at the boarding facility if they are properly and slowly introduced. She seems to do well around the ranch horses as well. Our volunteer brought her 1 year old puppy during TENA's photo session and TENA was very tolerant of the newly introduced puppy who has lots of energy. TENA was able to keep up and play! We don't know TENA will behave around children, but it appears that she would enjoy the constant love and attention from anyone! TENA still needs some training for basic commands and will do well with someone who can care for her health and grooming needs. TENA is spayed, fully vaccinated, and will be microchipped for her furever family. BACKGROUND: Her family abandoned her and left her to fend for herself with other huskies in Wendell. She was finally trapped by rescue volunteers in mid-December. She was lucky to be accepted by one of our dedicated fosters who live on a ranch with other dogs, cats, and horses so that she can decompress.
