About Marlo

Hi, I'm Marlo, a 9-year-old, 11-pound male yorkie! Likes: Getting petted, sitting on the couch or on your lap, likes other dogs, doesn't bother cats, car rides, getting treats. Dislikes: Getting groomed, brushed, being told what to do, nail trims, going out in the yard when raining, being picked up. Personality: Once he has time to warm up to you, he's very loving, bouncy, vocal when you come home. Can be content laying on your lap or off by himself on his blanket. Temperament: Can be sweet and loving. Need times to warm up. Will growl and be nippy if forced to do something he doesn't want to do (move away from the door or get off you. If you walk towards him when trying to move him away from door he will go after your shoe) but is learning to stay back when told. Crate trained: No doesn't like the crate. Foster mom hasn't crated him since the trip home from shelter. He's good roaming the house and hasn't destroyed anything or seem like he has separation anxiety. When checked in on camera he's either looking out the window or sleeping somewhere. Aggression: He doesn't have any. He is fearful and nips when scared or doesn't fully trust you. He needs time to come to you on his own terms, CAN NOT force yourself on him. He fear-nips when you put a collar or leash on him but is doing better with daily training. Living conditions: Currently living with 14 other dogs, 2 cats. No children in the home and hasn't been around any as of yet in foster home. Because of his initial fearfulness, only older children, please. Resource Guarding: Marlo will resource guard items that he deems to be of high value, so best not to try and take them away from him!
