About Chip

This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only. Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. Chip is a 2.5 year old great Dane/mastiff mix. She is very high energy. She is very sweet to her family but does not like strangers at all. If meeting them inside the home she will usually tolerate them but needs to be introduced slowly with no eye contact. She is highly reactive to people and other animals outside the home. She needs someone with experience with both great Danes and reactive dogs. She needs almost constant attention when she is not in her crate. She is crate and muzzle trained. She knows basic commands as well as place and stop. She likes children inside the home and was raised with a 3 year old. She does have a bad habit of putting her face in their face or leaning on them and knocking them over. She is spayed and has a gastroplexi, and is up to date on shots. She hates have her nails cut, we take her to the vet to have them done. She has never been reactive to anyone at the vet. She has never been around cats. She does NOT have a bite history. We believe her reactivity is based on anxiety. She gets nervous easily. She currently takes anxiety medication to help with reactivity. She needs to be the only dog in the home. Must have experience with reactive dogs to adopt.
