About Breve

'Hi there! My name is Breve and I'm a 2-ish year old Beagle/mix that is looking for a family to call my own. I'm a funny little fella and I just know that I will make someone so, so happy with my silly antics and wonderful Beagle cuddles! I came to SVASC with 3 other dogs because my owners could no longer care for me. Once I arrived at SVASC, they quickly realized that I was a special guy and called my foster mom to come save me from the scary shelter. Turns out, I have a very rare spinal deformity called Short Spine Syndrome and although it is moderate, I do need some special accommodations to make my life as easy and pain-free as possible. I need to be handled pretty gently, must be walked on a harness, like to eat and drink from raised bowls, am not a fan of stairs or big jumps, and would thrive in a calmer household. Other than that, though, I'm pretty much a normal pup, though my deformity may cause some unique challenges as I get older. My adopter will definitely need to be committed to ongoing, regular vet care to ensure that I have continue to live my best life. With the right limitations and care, I should be able to live a very normal life, with little to no issues. I do get along great with other dogs and really enjoy their company, however larger dogs do seem to scare me a bit. I would definitely do best in a home with either very calm or smaller pups. My foster mom reports that I love cuddles and give the best kisses. You know you want in on those kisses! My adoption fee is $125 to an approved adopter. I am currently waiting for a home with a foster, so I'm not at SVASC.
