About Bruno

Bruno spent 74 days in the Midland Texas shelter. He was initially sold as a puppy by a breeder and they never got him neutered and the family returned him to the breeder at age 5 years old for being aggressive towards one of their other dogs. The breeder also had issues with aggression and dumped him at the pound in Midland. The only reason he lasted so long is because an animal control officer fell in love with him and on the 75th day he was set to be euthanized again for the final time. We worked a miracle and got him up to Amarillo. He definitely does not like loud noises like motorcycles and weedeaters and lawnmowers and so would need to be kenneled for any of that. He has never shown any signs of aggression towards any of our other 26 dogs although he is kept separately, he wags his tail and acts like he wants to play-especially with the females. HE would probably be a great dog with a submissive female companion. I am hesitant to acclimate him with the other dogs here because I am a single small framed female running this rescue alone and if A fight did break out I would have difficulty breaking it up. He was left out accidentally with one of my small male pugs and there were no issues. I believe he would be great as an only dog or with a submissive female as he seems to want a friend. He is a larger bulldog at 72 pounds and loves to play ball and lay down for tummy scratches. We do not transport our bulldogs and require approved adopters to pick up. Smushed face breed experience is required in order to adopt no exceptions. He also needs a strong owner who is physically in shape as he is a big strong dog.
