About Parker

Courtesy post We are looking for an Experienced German Shepherd Foster or Adopter - (Experience will be verified through vet reference check for pervious ownership of the breed) Parker was barely 6 weeks old (7lbs) when found abandoned at a truck stop in Texas. He was adopted from Tasca's Love by his foster family at 10 weeks old in July 2021 and is now back with the rescue needing to find a new home. Parker is a very smart dog, having bold puppy behavior and needing patient, consistent and firm handling. Our training partner goes on to describe him as a very good dog needing a working breed experience in his foster/adoptive family. Parker is focused, engaged and driven. While he has leash reactivity, he easily breaks away his gaze in anticipation of the handler's reward (food/praise). Parker is dog friendly (with proper introduction) and gets along with dogs of all sizes and temperament. Parker will need a foster or an adopter that will commit to attending follow up training sessions. Please do NOT reach out if your idea of training is using the e-collar. He will need an active foster/adopter as he thrives on performing a job, as is customary to his breed. He will be the perfect exercise partner for an active foster/adopter. While Parker is still a puppy (8 months old) he is a very large one at almost 70lbs and will most likely grow to be 90+lbs Parker is just a puppy who deserves a committed furever family to help him learn and succeed!
