About Brooke

Owner surrendered at age 15!!!�%A0 Brooke's Mom passed away and the family did not want to bother with the 4 fur babies. They surrender all four Loves to animals control. Brooke was the oldest estimated to be 14-15 years old. No one deserves to spend thier final years in a shelter. Brooke deserves to be in warm comfy beds and resting on piles of pillows with loving people surrounding her. We are doing that for her now, but would love to see her in a quiet home where she can retire and spend her final years. Brooke currently spends her days on the couch or curled up in a big fluffy bed. She spends her days filled with naps followed by more napping, then cuddles and loves and then it's time for bed. Brooke loves to be near her people and loves snuggles. With the cold weather the last few days we often find Miss Brookie under a blanket curled up on the couch just a comfy as can be. When she needs to potty or is thirsty she gets up and whines a little to get your attention. She does potty outside everytime that she is sent out to potty. Sometimes she cannot hold it and will potty on pee pads in the home. She was pee pad trained by her previous mama. The family said Brooke was 17 however our vet thinks she is more 14-15 years old than 17. She is heartworm negative, healthy enough for vaccines. We went ahead of got her a dhpp and rabies taken care of. Brooke has a small heart murmur stage 3. Her eyes are cloudy and she is going deaf.�%A0 She was placed on meds for her arthritis and prescribed something to help with her joint pain. Doc highly recommends a weight controlled diet. She was 17 lbs. To date she has lost 3 lbs and already getting around much better.�%A0 Many of her teeth were either already pulled or fell out due to old age. With her few remaining teeth, she can chow down on some kibble. With a healthy diet, excerise and meds to keep her moving this little girl possibly has a few good years left in her. Or course nothing is guarenteed.
