Names: Little Bear Age: 1 year Breed: Chihuahua/Dachshund mix, 7 pounds Sex: Female, spayed Location: Kern County, CA Vet Information: Little Bear is current with vaccinations. She is spayed and microchipped. Little Bear has not seen a veterinary ophthalmologist, but her owners were told by the shelter veterinarian that she was more than likely born blind. Other than her blindness, Little Bear is healthy. Owner report: While her current owners have been working with Little Bear, they are hoping to rehome her to someone that can provide her with more training and has lots of time to work with her. Little Bear is an indoor dog confined to one area of the house. She is not housebroken or leash trained. Her current owners taught her to find her food and water dishes and her dog house. Little Bear is good with men and women, female dogs, and other small animals. She currently lives with another adult female Chihuahua. Little Bear can be nervous at times, especially around voices that she doesn't recognize, and she has been known to snap when in that kind of situation. Little Bear has never bitten. Her owners note that it is better to approach her slowly and let her know you're there before petting her or picking her up. She is not aggressive to other dogs. Little Bears' owners would like you to know, 'She's able and capable of adapting to different surroundings and situations if she has someone that has the time to work with her.' Does anyone have room for sweet Little Bear? **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
