About Tundra

Adoption Fee: $300
Alaskan Malamute
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

DOB 4-2020. Red, male, neutered, vet UTD, friendly with strangers, people, kids, dogs, caution around small animals. Longer wooly type coat that needs to be 'blown out' and brushed weekly to avoid impaction. Wash and dry takes 2 hours; tip your groomer accordingly every 6-8weeks. Indoor dog only. Very social, playful, friendly, loves kids, humans and dogs. Submissive personality with other dogs. Potty trained, crate trained, free roam at bedtime, not destructive in house, doesnt bark much, walks well on leash with prong collar and special leash with handles. Quiet in apartment and car rides, settles well at bedtime, occupies himself with chew toys, Food/toy motivated. Panics with restraint(such as vet), positive reinforcement training works best for him. Smart and mischievous. Good at puzzles. Well behaved in house when he gets the proper daily exercise. Needs owner experienced with the breed, strong firm leadership and professional training. fenced in yard(won't bathroom on tie out lead), no small kids right now due to over excitement and rough mouthy play. Would love older kids, a yard and adult doggy sibling(puppies are exhausting and annoying afterwhile). He is bored and depressed with just him and I here. Very social. WILL steal food off table or escape his leash if he thinks you're not looking. Sassy teenage boy phase doesn't want to be told what to do. Throws temper tantrums due to not knowing how to redirect his excitment or fear(which includes jumping, alligator rolls, biting leash and hands. Bites hands hard enough to draw blood and bruise- I wear thick winter ski gloves). Muzzle for brushing, nails, vet, etc. (Distracts well with peanut butter licky mat or peanut butter in muzzle). Food aggressive with special chew bones/toys but not food bowl. Easily overstimulated, can't settle or distract attention. Over excitement Triggers: see a person/dog, can't go meet that person/dog, company at the house, vet, brushing, hyper little kids, happy praise, running together, a scary loud noise (such as semi truck passing by), tired from walking too long. 'Exercise intolerance'/ lazy for the breed. (Walk around the block will do, hates running, stairs, jumping into car. Vet recommends sedated Xrays to rule out hip problems). Aside from that, clean bill of health. $400 rehoming fee negotiable to the right home. Vet reference, home check and application required.
