About Cathy

Hello! My name is Cathy! I'm am a beautiful 10 year old apricot female poodle that looks like a teddy bear. Before I arrived in my foster home, I was used strictly for breeding purposes in a puppy mill. Of course, I was not treated very well through no fault of my own. For this reason, I'm learning to trust humans. I'm taking steps to approach them to demonstrate that I'm really trying to get to know them. I follow my humans throughout the house and stay in whatever room they are in. I've found that 'treat time ' is pretty awesome and will take treats from my humans' hands. Because I'm treat-motivated, my foster mom is using this to help me work on house training. I will access a crate if you want me to, but since coming to my foster home, I've had free range of the house. I'm about 20 lbs and am a good healthy eater. My foster mom thinks I may be mixed with another breed since I'm a little bigger than a typical poodle. Despite my size, I am described as being very quiet, laid back and gentle. My fosters have not even heard me bark. There are multiple other dogs in the home, and I get along with them all. There are also these hairy things that are referring to as cats. I don't have a problems with them, either. Children have visited our home as well. I was very relaxed as they played with their toys. I'm seriously seeking my furever home. I come fully vetted to the right adopter. My perfect human will be willing to be patient as I develop socialization skills, continue building trust in humans and work with me on learning new skills such as walking on a leash. The vetting includes current vaccines, a spay and a dental. My adoption fee is $450. A fenced-in yard or area is necessary for my safety.
