About Fizz

Fizz is a very sweet girl, sadly we cannot keep her due to our older female's attitude. She is approximately one year old, weight 44 lbs. She loves to play and wrestle with our male dog, and has been good meeting other neighbor dogs. She was an abused stray when we found her in April 2021, malnourished and her neck was raw down to bare skin and sores all the way around. It took time to build up trust, and she took a very long time before she would use the bathroom on leash in the yard. She did not have any concept of indicating when she needed to go to the bathroom, and would suddenly pee and poop inside without warning. We have worked on this, and happy to say the only accident she has had in several months is peeing due to excitement of meeting new people. She indicates needing to go out by standing at the door. We do not have children, so have never seen her interaction with kids. We have walked her daily on leash with our other dogs, and she is good on leash, but still needs reminding not to pull. She has her own crate and eats there and rests afterwards. We also crate our dogs when we are away from the house. She tore up pillow-like bedding, but has been satisfied and not destructive with fleece blanket in her crate. She loves to be close and cuddle, but also has some issues with resource-guarding. We have worked on this, and she has improved, but still an area that needs attention. She charges our cat, but is getting better, and will leave him be when we tell her. He is a 'dog cat,' used to dogs and wrestling with them, Fizz would probably be way too much and very intimidating for a 'cat cat' We are truly heartbroken that she and our other female cannot get along, so we sadly need to re-home her.
