About Daisy

To Daisy, it's no big deal that she's deaf! It's all she knows and gets along just fine, so no need for pity. Besides, who doesn't like a spotted dog who's pretty and sweet like a flower?! Daisy is a 4 to 5 year old, 40-ish pound female Pit Bull Terrier mix located in Whitman, MA. Driving Miss Daisy is something you'll enjoy doing because she loves to ride in cars. Swimming in a pool or at the beach and a good game of tug are some of her favorite activities. She is a playful dog who loves to cuddle and sleep near you. She does like walks, but will pull when excited. She loves all humans and will give lots of kisses to new and old friends alike. Daisy is crate-trained, but being respectful of her home means she can roam free as she waits for you to return for her famous kisses. She is also a curious dog who likes to know what's happening around her and what you're up to. Being completely deaf means Daisy responds to visual cues. She knows to sit and come, but should learn more with a trainer to guide her and her new pet parent. Safety is a top concern with deaf dogs, but through training she will learn to look to you for direction. She is not very vocal, but rather a visual dog as she depends on vision to compensate for her hearing loss. Originally, Daisy lived with another dog and had a doggie playmate. However, after a change of events, Daisy went to live with her 'grandparents' who have a sassy Yorkie. Daisy is being rehomed because it hasn't worked out. She is good about telling dogs to stay away, but one day the Yorkie was getting in Daisy's face and after not heeding her growl to back away, she bit him, and he needed stitches as a result. For that reason, she needs a home without other pets (she is mortified of cats!) but she'd probably enjoy playdates with a comparable pup. Mostly, Daisy is looking for someone to give her love and attention. She's a wonderful dog who loves everyone she meets and is very well-mannered. She is also spayed and house-trained.
