REHOMING HELP NEEDED (MD/DC/VA AREA) **I am also accepting temporary foster assistance** Hello Folks! My name is Arianna Travaglini and I am a veterinary technician located in Baltimore City. I am looking to rehome my 50 lb 8 year old neutered male pitbull, Derp. I have exhausted all other options and will not be tolerating unsolicited advice or opinions around my decision-making. Derp is fully vaccinated with a clean bill of health (he's also up to date on heart worm & flea/tick preventatives). He is very low maintenance (all he wants to do is sleep and cuddle) and is great with adults, children and other dogs. He travels well and loves the car and generally is a pretty excellent dog. However, he also unfortunately has severe anxiety (he is on Xanax and Clomicalm but still has home-destruction incidents, mostly wood-chewing of doors and doorframes) and has a significant prey drive for smaller non-canine animals. His anxiety has been steadily escalating over the past two years despite both behavioralist & veterinary interventions and so has his aggression towards small animals. This past weekend he almost killed his best cat buddy that he'd been harmoniously living with for almost two years (unprovoked), which was the final straw for me. I love him dearly but he needs to be in a quiet household with someone who just wants a bog dopey cuddle buddy and can spend intentional time with him. He will come with food, supplies and a $500 indestructible dog crate. I'd be more than happy to give additional history and information over the phone, but please rest assured that this is my final option before euthanizing him.
