About Copper

Copper just turned one year old on December 16th. He's my cuddlebug and will want to sleep with you every night. He loves to lay on you if you're on the couch and sleep.When I adopted him at 3 months old, the person handed him over with cuts and wounds all over his tiny body. We immediately put him in a bath and cleaned all his wounds. The first couple months he was shy. He is fully out of his shell now, a happy, highly energetic dog. He gets along with my other dog. He's getting better at being around other dogs but I wouldn't leave them alone just yet. It's a process, and I'm very patient with him. He is ALLERGIC to NECTARINES! All he did was lick it and he his eyes swelled up and he got welts all over his body. Benadryl was able to make it go away. I avoid all fruits with him so it doesn't happen again. He is crated when I run errands unless he goes with me. He's great in the car! He still pulls a bit on walks and likes to walk himself with his leash in his mouth ���%81. He loves toys, especially fetch with a ball and tug of war with a rope or other pull toys. He also likes puzzle treats. It's breaking my heart to give him up but I can't afford another dog. My wish is that he goes to a wonderful, loving family that will treat him right. He is trainable as long as it's consistent. I would love to be able to keep in touch with his new parents if that's okay with them, just to see how he's doing.
