About Kane

Looking for a foster to adopt family Kane is a 2 year old, sweet, derpy Dane mix. He is very much a Velcro boy; he wants to be close to his person as often as possible. He loves snuggles and keeping you company, whether on the sofa or on a walk in the woods. He has some major crate anxiety, but is able to 'free range' in the house just fine. He settles down and rests on the sofa with our Dane when we leave the house. He is very attentive and easy to redirect, especially with tasty treats! He has shown no food aggression or guarding, despite having been malnourished. Kane would do best in a household without cats or other small animals. Kids 8+ as toddler-y antics and noises perk him up a bit too much. A home with another calm, confident dog would be best to help ease any separation anxiety he might have. He came to LFAR very underweight and with the skin all along his spine scabbed over from fly bites. He has gained weight back and his skin is all healed up and hair regrown! He also had heartworms and is undergoing treatment to be rid of the parasites. His foster family will need to continue with prevention and transport him to the vet for testing once it appropriate time to test (the rescue provides prevention and pay for vet care during the fostering period). Your pets are safe from these parasites as long as they're on prevention which is already a strict requirement by the rescue. Kane is neutered and UTD on vaccines and preventatives. He's currently in a foster home in the Atlanta GA area. We are currently accepting foster families in GA TN AL KY OH IN IL SC NC VA DE. We are willing to consider surrounding states.
