About Kyoto

Kyoto (key-oh-toe/ named after a city in Japan) is a very special puppy. She's about 6 months old. I was told when I got her she was a chow/pit mix but she' definitely isn't chow, maybe a lab but not a chow. She's intelligent and knows tricks like sit, lay down, go to bed, get down. She's about 99% potty trained- if you can keep her on a schedule you won't have an issue. The most special thing about her is how kind and gentle she is. If you have a kid, a toddler, a baby- you don't have to stress. I have videos of her with my 2 year old daughter, she watches over her like a hawk. She's her protector and baby sitter at times. They even play together. But most importantly, if my kid ever screams and scares her, falls on her, hugs her around her chest and neck- Kyoto is tolerant and kind about receiving it. However, even though she's extremely good with children she tends to jump on adults when she's excited to see them. And she happy wiggles like crazy and has been known to push my kid over with her wiggles. She is also a habitual toilet bowl drinker. If you're in the shower she'll stick her head in for drinks. I've also worked with her daily to prevent food aggression. You can stick your hand in her bowl or even take her food and she'll just look at you- doesn't care. She's probably 35-40 pounds. She grew a lot at first but a month or two ago she really slowed down so now I'm doubting how big she'll get. She is muscular just not the tallest. She's gorgeous and photogenic. She's been kept clean with regular baths and is very tolerant, but will jump out if you leave the room. She's been wormed and is currently worn and flea/tick free. At one point she had a yeast infection in her ear which we dealt with, but sometimes in floppy ear dogs they like to reoccur- so it's a possible expense you should plan for. It's a medicine that you actually have to get prescribed from the vet and costs about $40 on top of the vet visit. You can let her out in the yard without a leash and she won't run away. She is leash trained but still has puppy tendencies like switching sides. She got her first set of shots but I let the second shot run over due so she'll need her first again. They're about $15 a set at tractor supply. Lastly, Kyoto is a good dog by herself, and a good dog with siblings- right now her sibling is a teacup chihuahua and they're absolutely bff's. I love Kyoto will all of my heart, she deserves to go to an above average home because she's an above average dog. If you think you can offer her a great home and family please reach out.
