About HARMONY

Saint Bernard
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Adopt or Foster Harmony!!! Harmony is a 3 year old Saint Bernard, who has been with us quite some time! She was rescued in February from living on a chain outside with her son, Triumph (already adopted)!! They had no shelter, no bedding and nothing to stay warm, her son had awful frostbite we had to treat! Unfortunately Harmony got stuck with us so long because our Director became deathly ill and she needed medical and training before she could be adopted. Now we have done that and she will be ready to leave us in 2 weeks! Harmony has been spending time at our amazing training facility, Wright Way Canine Center with our Behaviorist. She has been working on her obedience skills and learning how to be a dog! She came home with me over the holiday and had such a blast! She plays well with every dog we test her with and really paid no attention to my cat! She showed interest in the cat by sniffing, but no hyper arousal or anything negative. Harmony is being taught all her basics, including leash walking in Heel, sit, down, wait, stay and works on a Starmark collar. She is crate trained, potty trained and loads great in the car but is prone to UTI so she needs to take cranberry supplements daily to keep them at bay. Harmony's downfall, if she has one, is small children and barriers. She has been good with some young children but also lunged and barked at others - so she needs to be in a home with children above 12 years old and caution need be taken around grandchildren or small kids in public. We suspect she was teased or abused by young kids when chained up. She also has issues with barriers, like if in a crate and another dog walks by her she will bark or growl, but remove her and she'll be their best friend, she also can do this in the car with strangers. We have been working on this with her and will happily show her new adopter how to address this issue. It typically resolves in time with proper patience and redirection. Harmony has the most beautiful splatter rough coat, hospice ear and is just stunning! She absolutely loves to play, loves toys and tug of war with another dog. She is a Z that came from horrific conditions and she deserves the best home she can get! We are located in Oklahoma, but we adopt nationwide and deliver nationwide or allow pick-ups!!
