About Annie

Annie came to me as an owner surrender through my previous animal hospital. She was extremely emaciated. We are fostering her until a furever home becomes available. We have invested in veterinary care as well as equipment such as a large crate and an easy walk harness. She needs a family who will be patient and never show her frustration for normal dog behavior such as barking and going potty in the house. She needs a yard for easy potty training. She must go to a family who practices positive reinforcement training, never negative reinforcement. This is a young girl who has had a very rough life and needs love, compassion, and understanding. She is beyond sweet as pie and when she gains your trust, she is an absolute delight. She is wonderful with my three year old son and they get into all kinds of trouble together. She would benefit from having a sibling that loves to play and romp around!! She is a great family dog, and will remain so, as long as everyone in the home understands she must never be spanked, scolded, or have her collar popped in order to 'correct' a behavior. If you are someone who uses negative reinforcement as communication then do NOT adopt this dog. If you are a compassionate dog owner and love this girl, I would recommend some basic obeisance training from a positive reinforcement trainer. Never from a trainer that recommends shock collars, prong collars, choke chains, and other training methods that onset anxiety or fear. We absolutely love her and wish we had the resources to keep her ourselves. She would be our foster failure of we could! But she deserves the VERY best!
