About Gia

**PLEASE READ GIA'S BIO THOROUGHLY BEFORE INQUIRING.** This is Gia, our beautiful 4 year old, 17lb Shih Tzu/Terrier mix that is so sweet and so loving! Gia came to us as an owner surrender from a backyard breeder who was overwhelmed with dogs. Gia is a dog that definitely needs another pup in the home. She cannot be an 'only' dog. If you do not have another dog, she has her best friend, Michi, a 3 year old Min Pin mix that she can be adopted with. They get along great together and it would make their transition into a new home a lot easier. Gia is a dog that we call a 'bark talker.' She LOVES to talk and express her opinion, but listens very well when you tell her to stop. Due to the bark talking, she should not go into a condo/apt type home. Gia LOVES attention spent on her! She loves to be brushed, groomed, etc and will tell you to not stop. She is a sweet dog with a little sassy in her. She does well with potty training if she has outdoor access, but is still working on it. She is a good eater and we are looking for a home that will incorporate some home cooking into some high quality dry food. Gia is getting the hang of walking on a leash and with practice, will be pure perfection! She definitely needs a home that will allow pets on the furniture as she loves sitting on the couch and sleeping in the bed with you. Gia will definitely needs some time to feel safe in her new home, but with patience and lots of love, she will be your best friend in no time! Gia is microchipped, vaccinated and spayed. We only adopt in Los Angeles and surrounding areas as an in person home check and trial period are required.
