About Kyros

Pit Bull / Lab
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Kyros is the best friend you never knew you needed! He's had the worst luck so far.. He lived the first 5 years of his life chained outside the house of his 'owner' with zero interactions with other dogs or socialization. This means that Kyros never learned how to interact with other canine friends. He used to sleep on the hot asphalt and has scars on his elbows to prove it. Kyros got dumped near a busy highway and found shelter in a residential building. Kyros then was rescued and found a great adopter who was also a dog trainer and knew how to deal with reactivity and overall training. They spent beautiful 7 months together and Kyros made significant progress with female dogs. Unfortunately, his adopter passed away unexpectedly in his sleep leaving behind a broken hearted dog. Kyros is now in an overcrowded shelter dealing with heightened anxiety, stress all while missing his previous guardian. Kyros will never be the type of dogs to be let off-leash with other dogs. His interactions with other animals should always be supervised. With proper training and lifestyle, he might be able to accept a female dog but he does not like males at all. He must be the ONLY pet in the house. It's important that his future adopter understands that Kyros has been through a lot and he is not a young dog anymore. In terms of personality, he will become your rock and support wherever you go and whatever you do. He is a very sweet and affectionate dog who really loves to snuggle up next to his human and get some kisses but also appreciates his space. Kyros needs an understanding and patient person who will value this sweetheart and his history. Kyros knows basic commands but needs a lot of work on leash walking (he is a real puller!) This dog is currently in Lebanon but he can travel as soon as a good match is found! (as early as January 2022). He is microchipped, vaccinated, neutered and has a clear bill of health!
