About Maya

Maya is a showstopper! She's playful, EXTREMELY smart, eager to learn and please her human, friendly and overall very well behaved inside the house (she does not have any destructive behavior if properly walked/exercised). She is energetic and would do wonderful in a house with dogs to play with. Maya tends to get frustrated when left for long periods of time alone in a room/house so it's advisable to provide her with proper stimulation to keep her entertained. She gets very attached to her humans. Maya is very friendly and adores people and company. She does well in restaurants/city walks/pubs as well. Maya is good with other dogs WHEN INTRODUCED PROPERLY and slowly. She is a fearful dog (due to a past attack from an off-leash dog) so she takes her time to warm up and trust other dogs, but once she does the fun never stops. Maya is still not 100% potty trained but she knows her commands like: sit, down, stay and come. She's currently staying in a foster home. Friendliness with children: 10/10 Friendliness with dogs: 8/10 - Friendliness with cats: 8/10 (caution is always advised when introducing a cat to a dog). She's great on a leash as well! If you made it this far, we hope Maya is the dog for you. She is currently in Lebanon and will be good to travel as soon as a family is found. Maya has an old injury in her right arm that's common among active breeds like the Belgian Malinois and its various mixes. We are operating BEFORE her freedom flight and allowing 8 weeks of recovery. She will be ready for her forever family by February 2022!
