About Lila

Lila is a wonderful dog. I adopted her 5 mos ago but my 4 small dogs don't like her. She reacted and injured one of them recently so I need to rehome her, otherwise I would not let go of her. She is calm, well housebroken, knows basic obedience, is learning not to pull on leash, would love to be with an active adult. I have only seen her with one child (3 yr old) briefly and she was fine, but I was told when I adopted her that she was not good with small children. She barks when strangers come to my home but shows no other aggressiveness. She had a difficult time when I adopted her. It was sudden and she felt abandoned and broke out of my fenced yard twice trying to go home. Once she recognized she lived here, she settled in and has done well. For this reason I will want Lila to meet her new family a couple of times before she moves to live with them. Lila had a growth on her hip that was removed. It turned out to be a cancer but the vet said it was superficial and she got it all and it is very unlikely to return. I wanted a dog who looked like a guard dog but wasn't mean and she has been perfect. She will keep strangers and coyotes out of your yard but I can't imagine her biting anyone unless her family was being attacked.
