Bugsy -- 4.5 year old neutered male American Bully or American Pit Bull Terrier mix -- approx 60 lbs Bugsy is an adorable meatball of a dog who enjoys long walks and meeting new people. He can be a little quirky, but to know him, is to love him. He's generally a happy, easy going guy who's looking for a bully breed experienced owner. A bit about him -- With dogs: Enjoys playing with other dogs, but can be selective about his companions. Rough and rowdy play style. Some dogs he likes right away, and others he takes time to develop trust in before he'll play. Bugsy is almost guaranteed to like any bouncy, social female dog he meets. Able to share toys. Dog introduction required. With cats: Has not been tested. Likely not a good fit due to prey drive. For grooming: Tolerant of grooming and handling. Good at vet for exams. In kennel: Polite and clean in his crate, but does have some confinement anxiety he's been working through. If crated, he requires a heavy duty crate, which will be supplied with his adoption (ProSelect Empire Crate.) In general: Low food drive, but willing to work for high value treats. Low toy drive, but will play -- particularly likes playing tug with other dogs, but will sometimes engage with a person. Prefers walks and exploring. Good walker. Rides well in the car -- will lay down politely. Accepts strangers quickly and greets them with typical pit bull wigglebutt enthusiasm. Knows basic obedience commands: sit, down, place, and wait. Needs a home without young children -- he loves them...maybe a bit too much -- he can become over excited around, and possessive of, his young friends. Health: Has some seasonal allergies, but well managed. Needs a high quality diet and occasional allergy medication.
