He's been a perfect gentleman in his foster home but deserves to find his own family. Jake is good with dogs, cats, people, and pretty much anything in between. We are pretty sure he'd be great with children, but he hasn't been around any in his foster home. Because of his size though, older children might be best. He doesn't really know any commands it seems, but he does come when he's called which is the most important! He needs to lose some weight so that could also be why he doesn't want to 'sit'. Jake will wait nicely by the door as people go in and out, and doesn't bolt or push his way through. He wants to be an indoor dog, and only be outside when absolutely necessary. We think this was because he was left outside more than he preferred at his previous home when his owner could no longer care for him properly. He LOVES his people and bonds very easily. He's playful with dogs, and will be a nice companion friend for a dog or cat. But he does prefer people to other animals if he had to choose. Jake is about 75 pounds and has a beautiful thick coat that will require regular brushing. He also will NOT do stairs. A few steps are fine, but does not want to climb a staircase and if he does�'�|.he needs to be carried down. His foster home has wood stairs, and it's possible he'd do better on carpet. But he needs to be in a home where everyone has their main living on one floor so he doesn't get left out. This guy is pretty perfect in every way, and will bring joy and love to a lucky family.
