About Remus

Remus came to us in February 2020 after he had been abused, been a stay, adopted then abandoned. We took him into our home where we had one adult and one young adult Rhodesian Ridgeback. Things have been fine until the last 6 weeks where Remus and our young male Ridgeback have begun having housemate fights. Remus has been picking small fights with our adult female Ridgeback as well but they have not resulted in injuries like what has happened with our male. Remus is unbelievably sweet with people and wants nothing more than your full attention and nonstop petting. He gets jealous when attention is given to our other dogs despite our efforts to give affection and treats in a balanced manner. He has high prey drive and chases all small animals so a home with cats or small furry pets is not a good fit. We believe he needs a home without another dog and a decent sized yard to patrol as he's a fantastic guard dog. He's about 90 lbs and when his energy is up he can be pretty rambunctious so a home with small children is also not a good fit. He's been great with our older kids (10-14). He is up to date on his vaccinations and preventatives.
