HOW CAN YOU RESIST THAT ADORABLE FACE? This guy came in as a stray on 10/28/21. He is a very sweet 5 yr old neutered male Shar Pei/Lab looking mix who can give a lot of love. Franco (AKA POGO) lives up to his nickname. He is energetic and has a special talent of jumping high fences. Franco (POGO) is a very confident dog. He also makes a great guard dog. Franco helped himself out of his kennel one night at the shelter and was patrolling for us after hours. The next morning when staff came in Franco greeted staff with a bark and low growl. This guy is a protector but full of love and kisses. On a sad note, recently we notice Franco's activity level declining. He seems to be displaying signs of depression most likely from being in the kennel so long. A dog can lose hope and we see this firsthand with Franco. We have him in an area where the kennels are completely covered, but unfortunately, he doesn't get seen by the public. He does have anxiety, so he needs an active family that will take him walking, running and maybe do dog sports like agility!! He needs to have a job. He seems to be okay with some dogs, he doesn't like dogs that are extremely hyper or get too close to him. A slow introduction and time is a must. Placing him in a home with no other dogs or a home where he can be separated at first is ideal. He is not good with cats but that is very common for that breed. WE ARE TRULY DESPERATE!
