About Togo

Adoption Fee: $100
Siberian Husky
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Togo is a young energetic husky between 1 - 2yrs. He's good with people and my 7yr old daughter is able to walk him. He is desperately looing for his new forever home as he has been in foster placement for over six months. Please contact me via email if you are interested in adopting. There is an adoption questionnaire included below, once complete we can set up a meet and greet / adoption. (We are still working on setting up a fill in online application, for now, you can copy and paste the application and responses in an email) Adoption Application: Dog/Puppy The Good Dog Rescue and Rehabilitation Contact: 434-851-6124 Full name: Address: City: State/Province: Zip/Postal Code: Email: Home phone: Work phone: Cell phone: Alt Email: Which animal are you interested in: When is the best time to contact you? Place of Employment: Veterinarian's Name and Phone Number: In what type of home do you live: Do you rent or own your home: If you are renting, please provide your Landlord's contact information: How many people reside in your household? Please provide name and ages of all occupants: Other pets living in the home (names, age, sex, altered - yes or no) If you have a pet that is not altered, please tell us why. Are the dogs who currently reside in your home on heartworm and flea and tick prevention? If not, why? Do you have any outdoor animals? Chickens, goats, horses, etc? Are all family members in agreement about adopting this pet at this time? Is your yard fences? If yes, what type of fence and how high? (A fence is not necessarily a requirement for adoption purposes) Describe how long the pet will be unattended on a daily basis and where it will be kept during this time? How long do you think it will take this pet to acclimate to a new home environment? For example: 3 days, a week, a month? (New pets sometimes take a couple weeks to adjust, during which time it's typically referred to as the 'honeymoon' period) Have you ever gotten rid of a pet in the past? If so, to whom and why? (Responsible re-homing is not a deal breaker for the adoption of a new pet) What is your ideal personality in a companion dog? (This is important to know in order to make sure you are getting a dog that will fit your lifestyle/wants/needs) Would you be willing to take your pet to obedience class for 6-8 weeks? If no, why? (This is not a hard requirement as many people are perfectly capable of working with/training their own dogs) About how much do you think your dog will cost monthly? Please consider flea and heartworm prevention, grooming, dog food, and veterinary care. (Are you in agreement to take on any and all necessary veterinary care that may arise in the future? This is of course, within reason as some health problems/conditions are difficult to treat and other humane options should then be considered.) Any animal not currently altered is required to be altered by the adopter within 30 days, no later than 60 days after adoption (unless your veterinarian advises you to wait longer). Do you agree to have this animal altered? Do you agree to take your new pet in for a wellness check up and, if necessary, for updating of vaccinations. Due to covid, sometimes it can be hard to get a vet to the shelter or get an animal into a clinic before an adoption. All dogs are wormed on a consistent basis and provided updated DHLPP vaccinations. What, if any, circumstances would cause you to return a dog? Please try to think long term - for example - new baby, family illness, pet prefers one person over another, doesn't like a new pet you bring into the home, divorce, cost of pet care or unforeseen surgery. All pets adopted through the rescue can be returned at any time, no questions asked. The rescue can also provide help/assistance in re-homing if necessary. Why this particular pet at this time? How do you plan to discipline your pet or what method of training do you prefer? Opinions on crate training? (There is no right or wrong answer) How much time/inclination do you have available to exercise your pet? There is no wrong answer so please be honest so we can be sure you are matched well with your future pet. What best explains your lifestyle?
