Please note that because all of our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be about an hour of Wilmington, DE in order for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in person home visit. Emma is a 12 year old maltese mix. She was surrendered due to the health of her owner. She gets along with other dogs, but would also be happy as an only dog. She loves getting some fresh air, wandering around her yard or going for walks. Emma does have some allergies and is on Apoquel for them. Her foster is working on housebreaking but she does use potty pads. She is not a barker and likes to snooze in her bed. Emma is very hand shy and does not like her face touched. She may not have been well socialized. For this reason we do not recommend a home with young children. Emma needs a special home with adopters who are willing to work with her and give her time to get comfortable. She would love a forever home for the holidays!!
