About GOOSE

Adoption Fee: $350
Chihuahua mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Goose is a sweet and shy 3 year old, 12 pound Chihuahua mix who was surrendered to us out of a hoarding situation. She is very timid and unsure in new situations and with new people, but she very much wants to be loved. Once she is comfortable with a person Goose is so loving and sweet. She wants to snuggle and be on your lap and she gives lots of kisses. At night she sleeps cuddled up under the covers. Goose seems afraid to go outside and we don't know why. We aren't sure if she thinks she won't be allowed back in or what, but you do have to physically take her outside and deal with some dramatic wiggling doing it. Once she is out, she is fine, but she wants to stay close to you. She is not housebroken or leash trained and does need a secure fenced yard. Goose is good with other small dogs and would be best in a home with another small dog for company. She may be timid but she will stand up for herself against a dog who may be bullying her or in her face too much. After all she was in a hoarding situation and likely needed to learn to defend herself. She is probably too timid initially to be in a home with young children, but we think she would be fine with older kids who are used to little dogs. She has not been tested with cats, but we think she would be fine with them too. Goose has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12 month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Her spay will be scheduled at one of our vets soon and is covered by the rescue.
