I rescued my deaf Blue Heeler 3 years ago. The best thing that has happened in my life! I have been going back and forth on a tough decision, but I decided it is best to rehome him.�%A0 This has nothing to do with his energy levels/personality, but an unexpected event that happened last month. Out of nowhere, he attacked my cat and she did not make it. This has been very hard on me, and my dog as well. He can sense I am not myself around�%A0him anymore. The event has traumatized�%A0me to the point that I have lost my connection with him. I still absolutely love him the same, so it breaks my heart I feel like this. I have tried giving it time, but it seems to be getting worse for me. A little about him: He is deaf, but you would never know. He constantly�%A0follows and watches you- a strong magnet! He is 4 or 5 years old. He does not get along with other dogs/pets so it is important he has a home free of that. I have never had him around young children so I am unsure how he does with them. We have done a lot of obedience training- he loves it. He knows basic commands with hand gestures (come, sit, stay, lay down, 'No', 'Good job', 'Let's go in the car', 'Drop it'). He has a lot of energy but also calms down and likes to be lazy. Loves throwing the frisbee and playing catch. This is a decision I am ashamed I am making, but I know I cannot continue giving him the happiest life he deserves and more.�%A0My biggest request is that I do not lose all contact with him- as in I would like to be able to see him on social media or pictures that he is doing well. I will be very picky on people interested, preferably someone who has had a Heeler or understands what it takes having a working dog. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
