About Shanti

My name is Shanti and I'm a big cute man! My previous pet parent passed away and now I'm here to find my forever home! The shelter environment was a very big change for me and it took me a long time to adjust and start to open up to my caregivers. I'm in the Open Cat Room here (where cats roam freely with each other) and after a couple of months I finally felt comfortable enough to venture out from my hiding spot for treats. Now I'm slowly getting used to receiving gentle snuggles from my caregivers. They can tell that I'm a sweet sensitive cat who just needs some extra time, patience, and reassurance. I'm looking for a quiet home and a cat savvy adopter who understands shy cats and knows how to show me I'm safe and loved. In my previous home I lived with other cats (Queenie and Major Mack) and in Open Cat Room I'm submissive and get along great with the other cats. Maybe being adopted to a home with another cat or being adopted with one of my cat friends could help me adjust to my new home. They say that earning the trust of a shy cat is an incredibly rewarding experience and I think that is true. I think once I really settle in and know I'm 'home' I'll completely let down my walls and be a loyal feline family member. Are you the special someone I've been looking for?
