Hi, I'm Sandy! I am a 6 year old, 40 lb labrador/beagle mix from Mississippi. I came all the way to Wisconsin in hopes of finding my forever home! I spent 5 years in an abusive foster home where I lived outside in a concrete kennel 24/7. Because of my past life I am very hesitant of most people but specifically men The lovely people at Barks on Bourbon have been showing me what love and compassion is and I have to say��%BD'��%BD| I LOVE IT! Their love and support has allowed me to gain so much confidence when it comes to meeting new people, going on walks, and riding in the car. I love going for rides to get pup-cups, going on walks with lots of sniffing opportunities, and showing everyone how fast I can run around and fling my toys up in the air but once I get tired I'm a little snuggle bug. I will need a patient adopter that is willing to let me bond with them at my speed. I would also love it if my adopter was willing to take the time to teach me some tricks and manners, I love learning new things because I know there will be treats involved! I am very curious about other dogs would do best in a home with no other dogs, no children, and no cats. Ideally my adopter would be a woman because of my fear of men.
